Patron Day in Polish Bolesław Chrobry high school in Kłodzko. Tradition = Manners and mores in " Comenius Proeject"
Patron Day in a high school
named Bolesław Chrobry in Kłodzko
This day is a part of our school tradition , which is celebrated every year on the last day of April.

| That is the monument of Chrobry in Wrocław |
What
is more, this is also the farewell day of the 3rd Form students.
From that day on, it is only the leaving schools exams they should be concentrated
on………….But, let’s go back to Patron Day, and mainly to Bolesław Chrobry. You know , it was our great Polish King from the Middle Ages. An outstanding politician with quite a prophet- like vision of the future for Poland; the country not that important when he came to power, but independent and strong when he died. Well, if you really would like to know more about him go to Wikipedia.
Now,
how is that day cherished in our school?
The most often a kind of ceremony is held for all the
students in the patio of our school. What
does it look like ? You can see in the
As I said the students, supposed to wear students uniforms, gather as the audience in the patio with teachers. In fact, the perfect image of the students in our school is presented by the students showing the big inscription - in Polish - Dzień Patrona, in English- Patron day.You can see here clearly their outfit- navy-blue uniforms with silver badges presenting the image of our school Patron- Bolesław Chrobry.
All the ceremony is run by President of School Council.
| President of School Council- the second on the left dressed very formally |
The first very formal partof the ceremony is inaugurated by the entrance of our School Flag fellowship
By the way, the nickname Chrobry meant in Old POLISH – STRONG.
Then
usually starts so called the artistic part of the ceremony. As it is less
formal the Flag fellowship are supposed to leave the patio while the audience are
standing on the attention ( in other
words “not moving”).
Now
the performance starts. It is made by students from class 1F. You can imagine the
overwhelming music sung by one of our bards of Polish music, reminding us (click -h)
of the distant times and there enter the boys and one
red-haired girl in some costumes of Polish medieval knights. If not the costumes
are truly historical , at least the shields
patterns are.
Still boring, but then come the boys rapping the next verses of the ancient poem.
An then comes the future, where the final verses of the poem are recited by knights, a teacher, students and rappers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quite a mess?
No, the answer
to all the turmoil of the present is tradition. How about now listening to the
fragment of the song from The fiddler on the roof musical with the storming
word shouted “ tradition”?

This means we are not separate units but the indispensable parts of that phenomenon of continuity of life, which gives meaning to the
existence of each community, also our school one.
And here we are
so close to our “Comenius Project “ problem. Yes, this year our short spectacle
is the answer to the question of the project :
“ Manners and mores –do they still matter?”
Yes, because they build tradition which , in fact
keeping us down to earth, lets us live not losing our senses . HOW? W e have
always someone to talk to , no matter
if they are young or old. And this
happens by means of a “ common language
of tradition” recognized by all generations. Yes, we can communicate between generations! The only thing you have to do is
let your mind open to the past, present and future!
And one more
thing. Here we are the performers – CLASS 1 F :
CZEŚĆ!
Dziękujemy.

Manners and respect to people with disabilities
Manners and respect to people with disabilities
Disabled people always try to be as independent as possible in an accessible space. Like everyone else, they have to be treated with respect and equality; an inexcusable error of our society is to associate disability with dependency or need of others, so here are some manners, to know how to deal with people with disabilities.
Person is the first
The disabled people before anything else are human people, they have the same rights and obligations as others, they can take decisions and assume consequences; disability is a condition of life, not an illness, so they should always be treated as a person and never as a sick person. It is important to talk to them according to their age.
Behave naturally
When you are related to a disabled person, you should behave as usually you do with any other person; this does not mean forgetting or ignoring his or her disability.
Treat disabled people naturally, means avoid: overprotection, looking at them with fear, contempt, curiosity and / or pain; instead of that, we have to look into their eyes, in a natural way.
Always ask before doing
If you find that a disabled person needs your help to perform some activities, offer it before doing, and if you are accepted, ask how about you could help.
Respect the space of people with disabilities
Everyone needs a living space to feel safe and comfortable, sometimes actions like take the arm to a disabled person, give pats on the back or head, can be taken as a meddling, causing insecurity and possible overbalance.
Be inclusive
Disabled people know what are their abilities and limitations, so they can decide in which activities they wish to participate. They should never be excluded only by thinking that they cannot perform them.
Reply with kindness and a smile the requests of people with disabilities
Smile and respond with kindness, when you receive a request for help, because we are all different and we all need each other.
Avoid degrading, negative or diminutive, terms
The right thing is to call people by their names, but if you search an appropriate term, this would be "people with disabilities", but this term should never be used to offend.
Disability is not contagious, but discrimination can be easily spread.
Respect the special furniture and equipment
Respect the parking places indicated, furniture and equipment that are special to people with disabilities.
Maintaining confidentiality
It is normal to feel curiosity about the life of a disabled person, but we must respect the privacy of that people and wait until he or she decided to talk about the situation.
Be patient
Do not despair if the actions or language are slow, do not interrupt. Let the people finish and if something was not clear do not be embarrassed to ask. It is better to have a short but concise conversation that long and confusing.
